Dwarf Animation Studio is currently seeking Lighting artists.

Job Description 

At Dwarf the lighting Artist is responsible for achieving the best possible look on high quality show he works on. The lighting artist maintains lighting quality and consistency throughout the sequence, works with lighting leads/supervisor and production coordinator, applies and/or designs procedures and techniques to answer the visual challenge. Within the lighting department they report to the Lighting Supervisor ensuring the work aligns with Production designer, Director of photography and director’s vision, and the Head of Department to guarantee the work is aligned with the studio orientation strategy and vision.

Essential Skills 

  • Familiarity with TV production or feature film's pipeline workflow.
  • Ability to understand and apply the principle of color and Lighting to emphasize character animation, and meet the director’s vision
  • Deep knowledge of lighting & rendering process
  • Deep knowledge of visual structure and color theory
  • Strong communication and inter-communication skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting & problem solving skills
  • Strong artistic eye and attention to detail
  • Proven experience in collaborating in production environment
  • Proven experience in successfully prioritizing task in production environment

Desirable Skills

  • 3+ years of CG production experience.
  • Good understanding of lighting workflow using both commercial and in-house package
  • Good understanding of workflow and process of production using Deadline, Shotgun, Mari, Nuke
  • Experience in Surfacing assets within a production environment
  • Knowledge of Python in production
