About the job : 
 

We are looking for a Senior Surfacing Artist – Environment, Props & Vehicles to help define the visual language of the world of our stylized animated feature. The surfacing work will begin during lookdev and carry through asset production, establishing reusable workflows and high-quality smart shaders for Unreal Engine. 

Key Responsabilities :
 

• Texture and shade environment, props, and vehicle assets using Substance Painter and Designer 

• Collaborate with the modeling and lookdev teams to establish shader libraries and consistent workflows 

• Develop reusable smart materials using real-time techniques (trim sheets, decals, layered tileables, etc.) 

• Ensure surfacing assets meet technical performance targets and stylistic expectations in Unreal Engine 

• Support scene-level lighting needs by working closely with the Lighting and Environment Supervisors 

Must have :
 

• Proven experience in environment surfacing for stylized animated features, games, or VFX 

• Mastery of Substance Painter and Substance Designer for procedural material creation 

• Understanding of Unreal Engine’s material system and optimization for real-time performance 

• Ability to build smart shaders and re-usable material libraries 

• Good communication and team spirit 

• This is a bilingual studio and project — good English communication skills are a bonus
